Our Story

Mind the Gap was born out of a love for heritage, family, coffee and dessert, of course.

Recently inspired by the 12 days of traveling starting in Seattle down to San Diego on her honeymoon, resident chef and business owner Rhawnie realized two things: 1) she was ready to open up a physical shop and 2) no matter where in the world she is, she’s always in pursuit of an amazing cup of coffee and dessert.

Mind the Gap Coffee is a venture inspired by the fond memories of her upbringing and the time she spent in England. Whether in England or in the States, spending time with her grandmother was always a joyful experience. Many of these precious moments involved grabbing a cappuccino and a sweet treat. With these fond memories and readiness for something new, Rhawnie wanted to bring similar experiences to her own community.

We’re a small team dedicated to giving the community that intimacy and comfort that coffee and dessert bring.

The coffee is brewing, the tea is steeping, and the ovens are preheating. Our doors are officially open. Keep up with new updates through our Instagram page @mindthegapcoffee.

Our promise to you: good vibes, amazing coffee, authentic tea, and sweets from the heart.

From dreamer to foodie to Coffee & Sugar Hustler

Rhawnie is a chef and foodie with experience in the culinary and catering space. Her love for food goes back to baking homemade birthday cakes for her family as a child. Seeing how good food lights up the faces of her loved ones, she pursued ventures that would serve the community of Monroe, NJ.
